Who are the consumers of your API?

Customers are the users of your API. They can be developers, applications, or businesses who consume your API.

Customers can be created from the Customers tab in your dashboard or programmatically through the API.

Each customer has a unique, immutable clientId. This client ID gets set when you first create a customer and cannot be modified. A customer's client ID should correspond to some unique identifier in your application. When recording usage metrics in Kable, you must include the customer's clientId in every event.

Customers are also assigned a unique, immutable customerId by Kable. This identifier may be useful, but it is not required that you store or maintain customerIds. Every method of the Kable API may identify customers using either clientId or customerId.
